Tulsi Gabbard hits Biden for being 'judge, jury, executioner' by attacking Border Patrol agents over false narrative - TheBlaze

Former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard sharply denounced President Joe Biden Saturday over the ongoing border crisis, comparing Biden, whom she called her friend, to an "autocrat" for attacking Border Patrol agents who were falsely accused of abusing Haitian migrants. What did Biden say? Biden commented on the controversy involving the mounted Border Patrol agents on Friday by regurgitating the debunked narrative of migrant abuse and promising the Border Patrol agents involved would "pay." "It was horrible [what] you saw. To see people treated like they did [sic]. Horses nearly running people over and people being strapped," Biden said at the White House.

The Forcible Conversion to COVIDism - American Thinker
"By now, even progressives are aware that the restrictions imposed by COVID-19 hygiene rituals are onerous.
Temperature-taking, hand-sanitizing, mask-wearing, social distancing — all have become ubiquitous social practices since the arrival of the virus eighteen months ago.
Now forced vaccination and possibly vaccine passports have been added to the list of requirements deemed necessary for establishing and maintaining national health.
It strikes one that the ever-changing rituals pronounced by such entities as the CDC and WHO have become not only arbitrary and increasingly revelatory of dubious and ever-changing science, but also evocative more of religious practices than of rational, scientific measures...Read all.

Google's methods for spying on employees revealed in report | Washington Examiner

Google keeps a close eye on its employees through a number of tracking mechanisms when they engage in certain online activities, according to a new report. The tech giant zeroes in on employees who might be considering leaving out of fear they might access or leak sensitive material, according to reporting by The Information. Company security flags those workers by checking who has researched the cost of COBRA health insurance, drafted resignation letters, or searched for an internal checklist for those wanting to leave the company.

Ever seen a sign like this in a hotel bar? | Karen Kataline
Here’s a sign I saw in a hotel bar recently.
Yes, this is a private business, albeit a huge hotel chain, but I doubt they would have allowed such a sign ten or even five years ago.
Today, more businesses than ever care less about serving customers than about serving the government and political correctness.
...Do they care how offensive it is to the majority of their customers to be told what they can and cannot discuss in a public place?
...Acceptance of such dictates will create exactly that reality because people will have forgotten how.
The hotel chain is acting as a proxy for the current government once again since collectivist conditioning is exactly what they want.
Before you know it, there will be rules for speech, where to stand, which way to walk, and whether you can enter a business without the right papers…
Wait a minute…
We are watching a mass cultural psychosis where people are cheering the muzzling (jabbing and persecuting) of their fellow citizens.
The bell tolls for them as well.
They just don’t know it yet."...Read all.

Border Patrol union chief says if Biden weren't president, he'd 'arrest him for aiding and abetting' - TheBlaze

The leader of the union representing U.S. Border Patrol agents declared Thursday that if President Biden were not the sitting president, he would "arrest him for aiding and abetting." During an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd blamed the Biden administration's lenient immigration enforcement policies for the ongoing fiasco at the southern border. "I've been patrolling the borders since Clinton was the president, and I can tell you personally that the policies that have been in place were by far the best under President Trump, and President Biden completely and totally dismantled all of those policies," Judd said.

This is hilarious! Environmentalists are against drilling for the lithium that’s necessary for electric cars.

"Lithium is a necessary component of the batteries for electric cars that environmentalists are always claiming to be in favor of.

However, after lithium mining was proposed in California, environmentalists objected to the proposal.

The Los Angeles Times reported:

The drilling request has generated strong opposition from the Center for Biological Diversity, the Sierra Club and the Defenders of Wildlife, who say the drilling project would be an initial step toward the creation of a full-scale lithium mining operation. They say lithium extraction would bring industrial sprawl, large and unsightly drying ponds and threaten a fragile ecosystem that supports Nelson’s bighorn sheep, desert tortoises and the Panamint alligator lizard, among other species...

With nearly 30K NYC school staffers still unvaccinated, unions push City Hall to push back Monday's get-vaxxed-or-get-out deadline - TheBlaze

New York City decided over the summer that it would require all school staffers to be vaccinated or face losing their jobs. The deadline for all school employees to get jabbed is Monday, Sept. 27. But there's a problem: Nearly 30,000 of Gotham's school staffers are unvaccinated, the New York Post reported, and come the first of next week, they'll have to hit the bricks. Now the city's teacher and principal unions are calling on Mayor Bill de Blasio to push back the Department of Education's Monday deadline over staffing concerns, the Post said Thursday night.

Is there any species he can't ruin?

The Day of the Nitwits: Remember the Triffids? Well, the Green zealots are nearly as dangerous, argues PETER HITCHENS

PETER HITCHENS: Remember the Triffids? Green zealots are nearly as dangerous | Daily Mail Online
"Are we at the start of some huge and endless decline?
Or is there really nothing to worry about?
Our current state reminds me of John Wyndham’s brilliant novel The Day Of The Triffids, in which small, even silly or enjoyable, events turn out to be signs of an approaching nightmare.
Wyndham sets his story in a very normal modern Britain.
At first, people laugh at the ridiculous walking plants on the newsreels.
At first, they gaze happily at the spectacular meteor shower illuminating the night sky.
Far too late they grasp that these were the beginnings of an utter transformation in their lives.
Of course there are no Triffids.
But think of them as a metaphor.
...We seem to be complacent beyond belief as the signs of change multiply in our midst.
Nothing works properly any more.

Major University Launches Racial Justice Center, Funds Nonwhite Initiatives and Offers 'Masterclass in Activism'
"For aspiring activists, an upper Midwestern college has something supreme in store.

As announced on the University of Michigan’s website, the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy has launched a Center for Racial Justice.

Per the page, U of M hopes it will “challenge [the college] to live up to [its] democratic ideals and offer sound policy prescriptions for a more equitable and just society.”

The establishment eyes four goals.

  • Inform research agendas, policy debate, and potential policy solutions
  • Create an innovation space at the intersections of activism, artistry, research, and public policy, with a focus on advancing racial equity

It’s all about equity:

  • Support bold, courageous, and ambitious projects targeting racial inequity and intersectional injustice, led by some of the most important changemakers of our time

The school wants to train activists, and they’re not afraid to admit it.

  • Cultivate the next generation of racial justice changemakers and public policy leaders

It’s incredible how quickly the word “equity” has eclipsed “equality.”...Read all.

Thousands more people than usual are dying ... but it’s not from Covid
"While focus remains firmly fixed on Covid-19, a second health crisis is quietly emerging in Britain. Since the beginning of July, there have been thousands of excess deaths that were not caused by coronavirus.
According to health experts, this is highly unusual for the summer.
...According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), since July 2 there have been 9,619 excess deaths in England and Wales, of which 48 per cent (4,635) were not caused by Covid-19.

Not everyone thought he looked awful: Nixon debating, 1960
(AP photo)

Soon enough, a hardy media myth grew up around the 1960 debate: It’s a robust trope that says radio listeners thought Nixon won while television viewers favored Kennedy.

Politico is the latest media outlet to give expression to the myth (or at least to its juiciest half).

An essay posted today declares that “most people who heard the debate on the radio, which focused on domestic issues, thought Nixon had won. But Nixon’s sickly image counted for more; most viewers focused on what they saw and not on what they heard.”

What’s remarkable about this hoary media myth is that it persists despite its thorough dismantling 30 years ago by David Vancil and Sue D. Pendell...Read all.

Multiple House Republicans back bill to slap down Biden administration vaccine mandates - TheBlaze

More than a dozen House Republicans led by Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona have introduced legislation that takes aim at federal vaccine mandates, according to the Daily Caller. The Freedom From Mandates Act would kill the Biden administration's plan to force employers with 100 or more employees to require workers to either get vaccinated or furnish a negative test each week.

Of course, rules are for the little people

Instapundit--Of course, rules are for the little people

GOODER AND HARDER: ‘A disaster:’ How San Francisco’s office mask mandate is impacting restaurants, bars.

...Of course, rules are for the little people:

“In San Francisco over the weekend, Mayor London Breed explained that the video of her enjoying herself maskless at a jazz club doesn’t count when you really think about it, because, unlike you, she is really into music. ‘My drink was sitting at the table,’ Breed said when pushed on the matter, and ‘I got up and started dancing because I was feeling the spirit and I wasn’t thinking about a mask.’

Which is an absolutely spiffing excuse if one assumes that the mayor of San Francisco is alone among her fellow citizens in desiring to spend her evenings without a large piece of cloth strapped across her face

Exonerating herself further, Mayor Breed suggested that ‘we don’t need the fun police to come in and micromanage and tell us what we should or shouldn’t be doing.’ Which, again, is a ripping justification if we assume that everyone else in San Francisco is just dying for close supervision.”--Posted by

Texas Gov. Abbott extends generous offer to Border Patrol agents who could be punished by Biden administration - TheBlaze

Abbott, who characterized Biden as having "scapegoated" the Border Patrol, said Border Patrol agents would not have been in that position "had the Biden administration enforced the immigration laws and secured the border." The Texas governor claimed Border Patrol agents told him the flood of migrants into Del Rio only stopped after he took action, which he said was necessary because the Biden administration has abdicated their constitutional responsibilities.

The video confirms that Border Patrol agents were holding the reins used to control their horses as they were corralling migrants.
