Two federal appeals courts handed down decisions Tuesday on Trump-related lawsuits, and they both were favorable decisions for the president who faces more than 120 lawsuits challenging various executive decisions in his administration's first 60 days.

EXCLUSIVE: One Gov’t Agency Still Spending $1,000,000,000 On DEI Despite Trump’s Order To Cut It Out

While other agencies have moved to eliminate the “illegal and immoral programs” targeted in Trump’s day-one executive order, NIH is still funding over $1.3 billion in active grants that include DEI components — from race-based hiring schemes to “anti-racist” training initiatives and diversity-first faculty pipelines. - Thomas English
At least $441 million of those grants explicitly cite DEI in their project descriptions, according to NIH data compiled by watchdog group Do No Harm.
“The NIH spends billions and billions of dollars, and those are taxpayer dollars,” Dr. Kurt Miceli, the group’s medical director, told the Daily Caller News Foundation...
  • Among the still-active grants is a $28 million 2022 award to Mount Sinai — the largest hospital network in New York City — which pledges to embed “an anti-racist mindset” and “justice, equity, diversity [and] inclusion,” or JEDI, into every layer of its medical research infrastructure until it expires in 2028.
  • A $10 million grant to the University of Michigan from 2023 similarly promises to “expand the diversity of voices” in research and train “diverse types” of clinicians across the state until 2027...

COVID FIVE YEARS AGO TODAY: This was the Minneapolis Star-Tribune’s front page:

As James Lileks wrote last year:
The story had no “Two weeks to stop the spread” messaging.
The lockdown was open-ended, although I seem to recall we thought it was supposed to be two weeks, then reviewed. In two weeks the headline would be “New Target — May 4” which was almost a month away.
The rules were adjusted to let landscapers go back to work.

A Supreme Court Remedy for Nationwide Injunctions - WSJ

Congress gave the Supreme Court the authority to curb them by clarifying the Rules of Civil Procedure. -Elizabeth Price Foley
  • Federal trial judges blocking presidential acts via nationwide injunctions are creating a serious conflict between the executive and judicial branches.
  • The flood of such injunctions provoked President Trump to take to social media and call for the impeachment of a judge who issued a temporary restraining order.
Chief Justice John Roberts responded in a statement to reporters that impeachment is inappropriate and the administration should rely on “the normal appellate review process.”
Unsatisfied, Mr. Trump wrote on Thursday: Unlawful Nationwide Injunctions by Radical Left Judges could very well lead to the destruction of our Country! . . . If Justice Roberts and the United States Supreme Court do not fix this toxic and unprecedented situation IMMEDIATELY, our Country is in very serious trouble!”
  • There is something the justices can do to rein in nationwide injunctions: exercise their authority under the Rules Enabling Act of 1934 to amend the federal rule on injunctions...

Winning!

Trump Estimates '$4 Trillion Worth of Companies' Are 'Moving Back' to U.S.

“First of all, many companies are now moving into the United States. They’re coming back. Some of them left us from many years ago, decades ago, and they’re all – it seems they’re all coming back,” he said.

“We have probably identified maybe $4 trillion worth of companies moving back or going to move back. Many of them have announced. It’s going to be tremendous jobs, high-paying jobs, too,” he added.

Democrats Crash and Burn: Message To Musk: "You musty moo, moo, moo!"

No, seriously! Read on about the implosion of a once major political party. - James A George
Douglas Murray, surely one of the dominant intellectual conservative voices of our time along with Victor Davis Hanson and Roger Kimball, just published a column about some of the latest hi-jinks of the “leadership” of the Democrat Party that contained one example so outlandish that I had to go find video proof that it happened just as Murray reported it.
Here it is an introduction to a brief discussion of what appears to be the slow-moving train wreck of the final days (hope springs eternal!) of the Democrat Party we once knew and even at times respected:
...A major leader of the party ending his speech with an enthusiastic, emphatic, impassioned “moo, moo, moo” certainly qualifies for that expression! Murray sums it up in with his usual surgical wit:
The Gettysburg Address it was not.
But in case anyone forgets, Rep. Cleaver is a member of the Financial Services Subcommittee. And this is the best that he and his colleagues can do? To threaten to stand up and speak out and march and moo?..
Concerning AOC, writing about her presents me with some issues as to how to be civil when expressing my views about her and her abject imbeclity and moronic behavior. But for present purposes all I really need to do is cite you to a headline in the New York Times of only two days ago which graphically illustrates the Twilight Zone we are entering:

Breaking: Noem Makes Biggest FEMA Announcement in History - Agency Being Eliminated

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said during a Cabinet meeting Monday that she plans to nix the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Noem announced that she was “going to eliminate FEMA” but did not immediately provide details about the future of the disaster response agency, according to a report from the Daily Beast.

The outlet noted that both she and President Donald Trump have suggested that states could exercise more control over disaster relief, rather than having a federal entity manage the responses.

What The F-47's Canards Say About The Rest Of Its Design

The most surprising feature on the F-47 Next Generation fighter are canard foreplanes that aren't conducive to extreme degrees of stealth. - Tyler Rogoway
We actually learned quite a bit about the F-47 during the Oval Office presser and statements that came after it...
  • Arguably its most prominent and puzzling feature depicted are canard foreplanes.
For an aircraft that was thought to be optimized for low observability (stealth), range, payload, and speed, not maneuverability, this is a surprise.
  • Its potential implications are numerous...
